Overall, despite March’s snowstorms, holiday, and spring breaks, our market continued to be resilient, which, typically, is a signal for a strong spring season. The demand for homes — as indicated by a 32% increase in the number of homes going under contract and a 21% increase in the number of homes that sold — underscores that.
Although the market still favors sellers, some buyers are rejoicing. The Denver metro real estate market is highly localized, meaning whatever is happening to home prices in your neighborhood or zip code might be the opposite of what is happening in the neighborhood or zip code next door. Select buyers are purchasing homes for much less than the asking price, and some of them are asking for and getting seller concessions, which is another term for seller-paid closing costs.
